Even though women play a vital role in the household activities they have less decision making power than that of their male counterpart. hich stands as and obstacle for women’s development. Most rural as well as urban women are unemployed and their participation in social and economic phenomenon are negligible.

Gender inequality between men and women exists in developed as well as in developing countries in terms of socio-economic political, cultural and environmental development. However, there is less gender inequality gap in developed countries but in developing countries there is vast gap of inequality between men and women. It reflects the gender discrimination. Until and unless women are not brought into mainstream of development with equal access as to men there will not be the advancement of any society nation or world.
Educated women can be successful workers, capable house wives and reasonable mother. The mother is the first teacher of everyone. Thus, female education plays the role of the base stone of development. A female is a daughter, a sister, a wife, but most of all she is God’s creation. Creation that can create life.
If Nepalese women are educated they will be the twinkling star of sky like Florence Nightingle, Mother Teresa and Madam Curie.
Empowered women take more active roles in the house and community. When women take active roles in the household and community decision making, their families will be better equipped to comfort the challenges of poverty, improve family health and well being and increase household income. When women are organized into the group they can there collective strength to under take development activities and they are able to work as a pressure group to product their interest.
Education of women in developing countries leads to more equitable, stable and prosperous societies. Appropriate facilities can be improved standards of living for families, increases life spans, healthier and better educated children.
The term women empowerment is not new one, it is a familiar concept and global issue. Surfacely, women have equal right as male counterpart but there is vast discrimination between them due to the ignorance and superstitions. For the women’s empowerment they have provided same opportunity for education and encouraging girls and participate on politics and decision making. Women’s institution and organizations can play important role in this regard. To raise the social status of women their economic standard need to be addressed and promoted. So progress of women towards equality holds a barometer to the progress and development of the whole country.
So, if the nation wants to gain some thing from women, their first duty should be to given equal opportunity of education, health, empowerment etc.
