WebHostingBuzz – we're environmentally friendly

WebHostingBuzz do things differently. We're not going to make any wild, far-reaching claims about being carbon neutral and cushion it with a few blurbs of sales text. Instead, we'll tell you about our commitment to being green and let you decide if we're serious about our responsibilities within the environment.
Many web hosting companies now claim to be carbon neutral. Unfortunately, they've jumped on the bandwagon and make these claims purely from a marketing stand. They purchase cheap carbon credits (from commercial organisations making a profit from selling these credits!) and do not consider their wider environmental obligations. They see the purchasing of carbon credits, to offset their electrical usage, as a quick and easy way to claim carbon neutrality.
We sponsor the International Tree Foundation, a charity committed to improving the environment. Instead of buying arable land, planting trees and selling credits to web hosting companies, the ITF engages in tree planting programs in the developing world. Obviously, tree planting adds significant carbon absorption capacity as part of the carbon cycle but by choosing to run these programs in the developing world, the ITF helps those in poverty by employing them to plant and then care for the trees. As a company, we are proud to support the pioneering work done by the ITF and this is a cause we hold close to our hearts.
In addition to our support of the ITF to help offset the carbon generated by our use of electricity, we are also green in other areas:
